 “PROTESTA
NG
   MAMAMAYAN”

March 15, 2012

Ka Leon Estrella Peralta, Founding Chairman with Ka George San Mateo, President-PISTON taken on
March 15, 2012 during "Protesta Ng Mameamayan" in Quezon City Memorial Circle, Elliptical Road, QC

We actually know it’s a long hard climb to extensively reduce the prices of petroleum and petroleum products, electricity, water, and other basic commodities due to existing pertinent laws attached and applicable to the aforesaid like, the Oil Deregulation Law, E-VAT Law; EPIRA Law and other related laws.  These said “LAWS” created the “MONSTER of EXORBITANT PRICES” that financially affected the “PEOPLE.”  “We”
likewise, fully understand that the said “MONSTER” was created by the “Political Ill-Will” (Please see below author’s definition and description/s) of the past administrations and not by P-NOY.

Relative to the above, the recent “PROTESTA NG MAMAMAYAN” against successive price hikes on petroleum and petroleum products apparently, fell on deaf ears on the “NOT SO NEW” OCCUPANT/S of Malacanang.  They even wrongly (intentional or unintentional), perceived and presented to the Public the said “PROTESTA NG MAMAMAYAN” as a mere transport strike initiated by “PISTON.” Consequently, through Secretary Lacierda in his press conference on national television apparently, belittled “PISTON” for failing to paralyze the transportation in Metro Manila.  Seemingly, P-NOY and his “Bright Boys” are unattached on the real score of that day (March 15, 2012).  For truly, it was a “PROTESTA NG MAMAMAYAN” and absolutely not a TRANSPORT STRIKE; And “PISTON” as its main role and contribution to the said “PROTESTA NG MAMAMAYAN”, has self-tasked to initiate the “TRANSPORT CARAVAN” which started in Quezon City Memorial Circle and traveled to Makati City to highlight and bring the “PROTESTA NG MAMAMAYAN” right at the doorstep of the “BIG 3 OIL PLAYERS.”

Whether or not, it’s a “TRANSPORT STRIKE” or “TRANSPORT CARAVAN” or “PROTESTA NG MAMAMAYAN”; and whether it was successful or not, was non-issue.  By and Large, it’s the “PEOPLE” through their respective “People’s Organizations” who were in fact protesting; and belittling the same by Malacanang also belittles their sensitivity to the  “PROTESTING VOICES” of the “PEOPLE”, whom P-NOY proudly and publicly acclaimed and declared as his “BOSSES.”  Hence, due to the foregoing, P-NOY’s Political “Ill-Will” about the said social issue on petroleum was consequently and constructively “EXPOSED” by Secretary Lacierda’s aforesaid “uncalled for” public pronouncement in his said press conference.  What actually the “PEOPLE” expected from Malacanang is a soothing message of assurance that they loudly heard and is considering the “PROTESTING VOICES” of the “PEOPLE.” To belittle the protesting efforts of “PISTON”, a part and parcel of the “PROTESTA NG MAMAMAYAN” is to belittle the whole mass protest; and is tantamount to the trampling of the democratic framework guaranteed and embodied in  our Constitution.

“Kanino pa po ba hihingi ng tulong ang taumbayan? Kung di sa inyong mga taga Malacanang!”

“Ang Taumbayan lalong-lalo na ang masa ay
naghintay ng tunay na pagbabago hindi
lamang sa pagsugpo ng kurapsyon kung di
sa pagsugpo rin ng mga kadahilanan ng kahirapan
                   dito sa ating bayan.”

P-NOY’s administration must put a stop to the crippling price hikes of petroleum and petroleum products, electricity, water, and all other Basic
Commodities and to extensively reduce the prices of the same to a “Socially Economic Curable Level” (Please see below author’s definition and description/s).

The “Political Will” of P-NOY’s administration relevant to fighting and eliminating “POVERTY” must be seen and felt now by the “PEOPLE”; with the same vigor and intensity as to what they had/have witnessed in jailing the “Arroyos” and their cohorts and to have Chief Justice Corona impeached by P-Noy’s allies in the “House.”  Otherwise, the gained victory of the “PEOPLE” against the said erring Public Officials will be a VICTORY NO MORE . . . .  For the “PEOPLE” is now suffering from extensive financial crunch.  The “MONSTER OF  EXORBITANT PRICES” must be dealt with head-on by P-NOY, by urging his allies in the “House” to junk, repeal or amend all the pertinent “LAWS” that created the said “MONSTER”; As fast as he urged them to have C.J. Corona impeached.

The “MONSTER OF EXORBITANT PRICES” created by the previous administrations is very much alive and much stronger than before in P-NOY’s administration; and must be “EXTINGUISHED” by P-NOY to the BEST INTEREST OF THE “PEOPLE”, whom he acclaimed and addressed as his “BOSSES.”

Meaning and Descriptions:
*”POLITICAL ILL-WILL”  - a coined word by the author; definition – a political pseudo advocacy, a political overt act/acts, orchestrated or not, in which the desired result(s) is/are contrary to the desired positive result(s) of Political Will, usually it is anti-political foe(s), anti-people, anti-poor, anti-social justice, anti-social reforms, anti-human rights and other descriptions of similar import.

“SOCIAL ECONOMIC CURABLE LEVEL” – downgraded prices of petroleum and petroleum products, electricity, water and all basic commodities that would bring about the upliftment of the Social Economic standing of the “masses in general” which, if implemented, would initially narrow the gap between the rich and the poor and ultimately create a DRAGON MIDDLE CLASS. Specifically, this will bring about to the “MASSES IN GENERAL”: enough money to spend for all their basic necessities, enough money for their desired education, and enough savings for future capitalization to be able to engage in small business without resorting to “Loan Shark” financing.

A Political Satire: "P-NAY" versus P-NOY - INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY Philippines

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY
PHILIPPINES

Plaza Miranda-Mendiola, Manila
March 8, 2012

A Political Satire

“P-NAY” versus P-NOY
Please, listen to her . . .!!!

Ka Leon Estrella Peralta with Ka Mameng and Ka Leleng
of  KADAMAY

On March 8, 2012, the “FACE” of “disgusted” and “disgruntled” Filipino women   (“P-NAY”) has come into being.  They came in droves very ready to protest against the unresolved poverty brought about by unabated series of fuel price hikes, rising unemployment, contractualization overdose, wanton demolition in urban poor centers, onerous price of electricity and , rising prices of prime commodities, frozen salary hike for minimum wage earners and many more of the same. Name it and we have it in the Philippines.

P-NOYs almost two year old Presidency is now in the limelight and, whether he likes it or not, he has to face P-NAY” squarely on their above “social economic” issues.  Seemingly, P-NOY is not bent to install initial corrective measures to cushion the impact of the aforesaid “social economic” woes, such as suspending or lowering down the E-VAT for petroleum products and subsequently move for the Congressional junking of the Oil Deregulation Law in order to cure the ill effects of the rising prices of petroleum and petroleum products. Likewise, the Congressional junking of the EPIRA Law and other pertinent related laws is a must, in order to resolve the crippling effects of the rising prices of electricity in our country.

“P-NAY” wants P-NOY to listen to her until there is still time, for if not,      “P-NAY” in a “marriage like” situation, as a “disgruntled wife”, would ultimately seek for an annulment of their union against P-NOY; merely due to alleged “Psychological Incapacity” or in simpler words, incapable to be a “father” to his “family” (NATION) and to be a “husband” to his “wife”            (“P-NAY”).

Would the annulment of their “marriage” or “union” is in the offing?  Wait and see! ! !

There is a saying “in every man’s success and failure there is a woman behind.”

P-NOY, the “Samson”!
                 “P-NAY”, the “Delilah”!

Who would prevail?  Of course, it’s Delilah!
Would anybody say’s NO? Of course nobody . . . . .

For the Bible story says “YES.”

So . . . “SAMSON”, Beware of “DELILAH”. . . Please, listen to her . . .!!!

Reporter's Notebook " 'One' Single Sound of Silence", INC Grand Evangelical Mission

IGLESIA NI CRISTO
Grand Evangelical Mission

Reporter’s Notebook
“ ‘One’ Single Sound of Silence”

Ka Leon Estrella Peralta, Founding Chairman extends Anti-Trapo Movement
of the Philippines' sincerest congratulation to Ka Bendito Sandoval,
Tagapahala Ng Metro Manila East (INC)
On February 28, 2012, millions of IGLESIA NI CRISTO (INC) members gathered at Manila’s Quirino Grandstand, Davao City, Cagayan de Oro City, Cebu City, Bacolod City, San Jose Town in Tarlac, Iligan Town in Isabela and Pili town in Camarines Sur for a simultaneous GRAND EVANGELICAL MISSION in the run up to

its 100th founding anniversary in 2014. Other sectors of the society viewed the above gatherings of the IGLESIA NI CRISTO (INC) as a show-off force amid perceived tension with their once staunch ally President Aquino. However, P-NOY refuses to view INC Prayer Rally as a political move and had dismissed speculation that it was such.

As early as 8:00 A.M. on February 28, 2012, the ANTI-TRAPO MOVEMENT of the Philippines (ATM) headed by its Founding Chairman trooped to the
Rizal Park (Luneta) to support and observed the said INC religious gathering. As the hours past by, we were awed by the continuous arrivals of its members until it reached its peak at around 5:00 in the afternoon, with an on-site estimate of, more or less, one million attendees.

The atmosphere in Luneta on that day was very sober and peaceful. Absolutely, no individual nor group discussions about current politics and the like were heard and observed from its members.  Their “homogenous silence” on current politics and other related matters attached to it was astonishing. The “CROWD” spoke and acted as “ONE”, relatively focus on their religious belief and faith. “ONE” vision, “ONE” goal, and “ONE” religious principle.  Truly, it was a religious gathering as announced by the Iglesia Ni Cristo hierarchy and in sharp contrast to what were reported in the newspapers and other media outfits.

However, as I perceived the foregoing, their “‘ONE’ SINGLE SOUND OF SILENCE” about current politics is apparently “deafening” but could be contrastingly reverberating into the “ears” of those people who must or must have/had listened to their aforesaid “HOMOGENOUS SILENCE.”

SHOULD THEY LISTEN? . . . . . .IF MY PERCEPTION PROVES ME RIGHT, I HOPE THEY WOULD. . . . ! ! !

OUR SINCEREST CONGRATULATIONS TO THE IGLESIA NI CRISTO (INC) FOR THEIR VERY SUCCESSFUL GRAND EVENGELICAL MISSION!!!

With this, we, the ANTI-TRAPO MOVEMENT OF THE PHILS., Inc. respectfully submit to their humble GREATNESS, UNITY, DISCIPLINE, HONOR AND PRIDE. . . . .

A Briefer "A CHANGE OF MAN NOT IN MEN", " '86 EDSA People Power Revolution"

 “ ’86 “
EDSA  PEOPLE  POWER  REVOLUTION

A
”Change of MAN not in MEN”

                A
                  BRIEFER

Ka Leon Estrella Peralta
Founding Chairman

After 21 years of the Marcos Regime, 14 years of which is purely cold dictatorship, the Filipino People agreed that Marcos said self-styled form of governance had reached its saturation point and cried TAMA NA! SOBRA NA!  The vast majority of the people decided that he must be removed from office; hence, the People Power Revolution of 1986.

The assassination of former Senator Benigno Aquino in August 21, 1983 actually started Marcos’ downfall, followed by the Marcos rigged SNAP Election in February 7, 1986, wherein the people believed that “CORY” won the SNAP Election and thus, should be declared as the “11th President of the Republic of the Philippines.” Call for nationwide civil disobedience by the opposition followed suit but this did not jolt Marcos, if not for his “falling out” with his Minister of Defense, Juan Ponce Enrile, who learned that he and his RAM BOYS led by Lt. Col. Gringo Honasan will be arrested for plotting to launch a military coup against the “DICTATOR.”  Apparently, the military coup hatched by Enrile and his boys did not intend to install “CORY” but to install them in power, if not for its discovery by Marcos that made them so weak. By faith or by chance if not for the People Power called by the late Cardinal Sin, when he exhorted Filipino to aid the rebel leaders which he broadcasted at 9:00 PM on February 22, 1986 through Radio Veritas, they probably would be crushed by Marcos loyal troops to surrender.

The People Power Revolution of 1986 is a genuine “People Revolt” for we (People) wanted genuine change, a “Change in MEN not of MAN”, wherein the new breed of Political Leaders must put NATIONALISM AND PATRIOTISM in their political beliefs, aspirations and principles.

The then late President Corazon “Cory” Cojungco Aquino actually had done the ultimate right thing, the restoration of democracy in our country. After the revolutionary government that was immediately installed preceding the successful “People Power Revolution”, she convened the Constitutional Commission (CON COM) which drafted the 1987 Philippine Constitution and was subsequently ratified by the majority of the people in a national plebiscite.

We (People) faithfully have believed that the gained “Fresh Democracy” is a “Cure All” in the aspect of Political, Economic and Social Order.  This consequentially fired up Nationalism and Patriotism in the hearts and minds of the Filipino People led us to believe that Filipinos are now ready for an “Open Democracy”-- a democratic principle of “We agree to disagree”; where everything or anything is debatable within the context of Nationalism and Patriotism.

The series of military coup attempts that subsequently followed, most of these were led by now Senator Honasan, the virtual “falling-out” between the then late President Corazon “Cory” Cojungco Aquino  and the then late Vice-President Salvador “Doy” Laurel and the then Secretary of Defense and now Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile are “too early” significant events that had done great disservice to the aforesaid democratic principle of “We agree to disagree” within the context of Nationalism and Patriotism.  The obvious “too early” actuations and aspirations of the said “Key Players” of the “ ‘86” People Power Revolution, except for the then late President Cory, apparently displayed the wrong side of this democratic principle “We agree to disagree” within the context of selfish political survival, seemingly, under the disguise of Nationalism and Patriotism.

After 26 years of “Open Democracy,” these kind of “flock” grew tremendously in the Political Arena wherein Politicians and their allies wrongly and selfishly applied the democratic principle of “We agree to disagree” under the context of Selfish Political Survival.  Apparently, this said “Flock of Politicians” “agree” once their personal gains are assured but “disagree” once their political survival is at stake or no personal gains are assured of.

Hence, 26 years after the People Power Revolution, Political elites now reign supreme.  They disregard the rule of law and the aforesaid democratic principle for their selfish political survival priorities.  The seat of government is too far for most of the Filipino People to attain thus alienating them from governance -- taking out their inherent rights as government stakeholders. Oligarchy re-emerged and is now in control of basic services. It even makes BIG MONEY from electricity, water and fuel, which onerous prices continuously cripples the people. The problem of unemployment is still rising and contractualization of employment is at its worst which deprives our local Filipino workers the security of tenure and other labor benefits as provided by pertinent laws.  There is widespread graft and corruption, crime and violence and social injustice.

After 26 long years of apparent wrong application of “Open Democracy,” majority of the Filipino People is now re-crying “TAMA NA! SOBRA NA! ANG MALING PULITIKA DITO SA ATING BAYAN!”

I do remember myself and my companions, only amongst a few then; arriving in front of Camp Aguinaldo almost immediately after the late Cardinal Sin called for “People Power” on or about 9:00 P.M. of February 22, 1986. We went there in order to shield the rebel leaders who were holed up inside the said camp. We stayed in EDSA until Marcos left for Hawaii late in the evening of February 25, 2006.  I did learn my lesson, and in the event there will be any similar “PEOPLE POWER” in the future, I won’t hesitate to go and participate. However, this time, I will actively campaign for “People Power” that would ensure a “CHANGE IN MEN AND NOT OF MAN.”  And this must start now! . . . . Within ourselves . . . . .
